- Salaries and adminstrative expenditure of EU institutions make up less than 4% of the current total EU budget;
- The total number of EU staff (world-wide) is much smaller than the total number of staff directly employed by European cities having more than 1 million inhabitants;
- There is time delayed mechanism that automatically increases and decreases EU staff's salaries, in line with salaries of national civil servants in Member States;
- EU staff do pay taxes and are paid 12 monthly salaries per year;
- EU staff will have to complete 35 years' service to benefit from a maximum pension (up to 70% of their final salaries).
